Holiday Decorations – 2016

When you live in 823 sq feet apartment, you learn to be creative!

How do I decorate?

  1. I buy few winter greens from local grocery and use them wherever I can. Trust me, they help you to create fresh and organic vibes among plastic Holiday jungle.

  1.  Most of my close friends gift me candles because they know how much I love candles. Also, I buy candles wherever I go and use them everywhere in my apartment. You will find at least 3 candles in each room of mine.
  2. I use fake garlands which I bought from Michaels last year. I am not very proud of that purchase, but it does the work. That being said, I am planning to upgrade the garlands next year so I might be shopping at Etsy. We hang holiday lights from there so at night it creates a magical view.
  3. I buy winter plants like Pine and Poinsettia. They not only add holiday vibes but also releases oxygen (Good for you).
  4. Repurpose what you have! I buy a lot of antique props which I use for the holiday decorations.
  5. I use fake Christmas tree because I don’t want to clean every day and also for fire safety. But we are looking to buy a 5 1/2 feet fake Christmas tree next year.  7. I buy Christmas ornaments from all over the world. We have a no glitter policy when it comes to Christmas ornaments decorations. So this year, I moved all the glittery Christmas ornaments into apothecary jars and hang only non glittery ones from the tree.

8. Bedroom is a bit spartan but i small little things there.

I got inspired by Christiann Koepke‘s post and did a holiday table. It perked up my living room a lot.

Now it’s time to sip eggnog and watch Die Hard again and again.
